We all know that being apprised of the latest product trends can have positive affects on both our brand identity and sales. But have you considered that business card trends could affect you brand identity and sales as well? We scoured the Internet to find some of the most popular business card trends to help you make the important decision of what kind of business card to buy.

  1. Rounded Cards and Matte Cards: Rounded cards not only have a softer feel they also have a much softer look. Adding a matte finish to your cards can make them look very classy.

  2. Double-Sided Business Cards: 2 sides are better than one. Not only can you include your contact information and twitter handle; Using a double sided gives you the ability to connect with your audience in different ways. More on that further in the list.

  3. Pictures on Business Cards: Logos are a good thing to have on a business card. What about a picture? Some people have put pictures of their faces on a card much like real estate agents have been doing for awhile. It helps the people you are giving your card to remember who you are. As a photographer adding a small sample of your work would also be an effective marketing tool. Using plastic as a different stock, as some photographers know, can affect the way your photo is printed. Smooth plastic offers a great surface texture for printing photos of just about anything.

  4. Interactive business cards: This is where having a double sided business card could come in handy. This is also where your creativity can really shine. One side of your business card can include all the basic information. The other side could be a fun logo, an interesting quote, a testimonial, appointment reminder,  promotional offer for your business, or one giant QR code.

  5. QR Code Business cards: There is a lot of mixed messages surrounding QR codes on business cards or other marketing materials.  A side note on QR codes: ask yourself if these are effective for your audience and consider them carefully. While you can do cool things with them, such as track the effectiveness of your business card, you don’t want QR codes for a bake sale for men and women over 70, trust me, it won’t go anywhere. QR codes are opening doors in the marketing world for not only tracking but to engage with people on another level. QR codes can give you the interactive element you need to educate, inform, and interact with your consumers or potential employers.

  6. Blocks of Color Business Cards: Simple, yet fun. Having different color cards with the same design can be visually entertaining. Unless you have specific brand colors, changing up the colors would be a good way to switch it up a little.
